A community space near Petersfield was the hub for a 90s dance music night for a good cause.
Rave & Restore brought the community together for a night of nostalgia and fundraising at Froxfield Village Hall on February 1.
Organised by past and present Froxfield Primary School mums, the event raised a staggering £3,500 for much-needed maintenance of the Hall.
Libba Morrison, one of the organisers, said: “The Village Hall does need to be tarted up a little bit. We're raising money to have the interior completely repainted, and we've got a structural survey going on to make sure that it's sound for people to use.
“It is a little bit neglected and there's a lovely nursery school in there, but otherwise it doesn't really get much attention.
“The rave was a massive success and it was so lovely to see how much everybody enjoyed it and we raised three and a half grand which is quite astonishing!”
The hall was transformed into a vibrant club-like atmosphere, with disco lights, colourful lasers, and shimmering silver tinsel curtains. With 90s fashion at its core, revellers embraced the theme in vibrant neon outfits, with pork pie hats making a strong comeback.
Around 130 people danced the night away to the beats of DJ Locky and DJ 2Scoops, who delivered an electrifying mix of Happy House anthems and Drum and Bass bangers. There were also activities such as darts for those wanting to escape the dance floor.
Bar takings were boosted by a donation of beer from The Pub with No Name, adding to the success of the fundraising efforts.
Libba added: “We think it's really important for the community to have fun and socialise a few metres from their house. It's like a restoration for people as well as the buildings.
“There's a possibility that we could roll it out to other communities as well, kind of inject a bit of fun and sunshine into their lives too.”
