On Christmas Day, the Petersfield Area Churches Together (PACT) held a free lunch at the Petersfield Community Centre.

The event was for people who found themselves alone during the festive season or had nowhere to go for the day. Mayor Cllr Lesley Farrow went along with Cllr JC Crissey and there was much merry making as people enjoyed the spread that was on offer and the entertainment provided by the volunteer organisers and chefs.

PACT Christmas lunch coordinator/chair, Caz Nicholls, said: “It went so well and was thoroughly enjoyed by so many people, had 40 seated guests and then we did an additional 16 home deliveries. “

Sponsors included Petersfield Waitrose, Petersfield Tesco, PetaPrint, Dylan's Ice Cream, Turner's Pies, Foods of Europe and GAIL's Bakery Petersfield. Petersfield Lions provided volunteer drivers to help transport attendees who could not get there on their own.
