The sun was shining when volunteers at Petersfield Open Air Pool gathered for the pre-season maintenance day.
On the final weekend of March, fifteen people of all ages, got the pool looking spick and span, ready to welcome local swimmers back into the water.
Everyone mucked in to clean, sweep, paint and prepare the pool under the watchful eye of Piers Story, maintenance volunteer and event organiser.
One of the more complex jobs was the repair of the pool grates protecting the corner sumps, which required a diver for to remove and re-install them. Luckily, local diver and engineer Lloyd Moore came to the rescue!
The grates were repaired by expert metal craftsman Petersfield local Paul.
The pool management team extends their heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers for all their hard work.
Adding: “Without the support of these volunteers the pool, which is a charity, would not be able to be the positive vibrant and viable community asset that it is.”

The pool reopens on Saturday, April 12.
