THE PETERSFIELD based Rural Refugee Network is holding a sponsored walk to raise money for Syrian families being rehomed in East Hampshire.
The first family is due to arrive soon, and the network aims to provide support as long as it is needed. The 2.25 mile family walk on Sunday leaves Buriton pond at 10.30am and walkers of all ages are welcome.
They are advised to wear Wellington boots, or sturdy walking shoes and bring a picnic lunch. Network co-chairman Julia Newton, of Langrish, said: “We are helping them rebuild their shattered lives in our area.” After the walk there will be tea and a talk in Buriton Barn by Syrian Amaf Yousef. A donation can be made on the day. More details via e-mail at: [email protected]
