Waverley is not top of the grot as the borough is low on the national league table for fly-tipping.

Rubbish removal firm Hippo Waste has analysed data from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs to correlate a fly-tipping league table.

The data ranked authorities on the amount of fly-tipping incidents compared with their population from March 2022 to April 2023.

There were 750 reported fly-tipping cases - around two a day - in Waverley equating to 5.8 cases per 1,000 people.

Waverley came 234 out of 308 authorities with only Rushmoor finishing lower locally at 267 on the list.

Basingstoke & Deane had the worst record locally, finishing in 117th, with Hart (126), Woking (132), East Hampshire (138), Guildford (179), Winchester (185) and Chichester (204) being the other authorities from the Herald, Post and Woking News & Mail area to feature on the table.
