Allotment users in Petersfield have shown stirring support for a pair of two young fundraisers.

Everybody needs good neighbours – and Orla and Fern Roff are just that as they’ve served tea, coffee and biscuits to gardeners on the Tilmore allotments in aid of Target Ovarian Cancer.

The pair launched an online appeal for the good cause earlier this month in support of their “lovely grandmother”.

And it seems that gardeners and well-wishers are digging their work, with close to £100 being raised within a fortnight.

“These two girls offered me a cup of tea whilst I was on my allotment and they’ve delighted many of my fellow holders with tea, coffee and biscuits,” said a user who contacted the Post.
