WEST Meon church fete was blessed with good weather and a good turnout, says the vicar of the village church, St John the Evangelist.

And the Reverend Lionel Stocker was happy to pull on a chef’s hat for the fundraiser at West Meon House.

He said: “We were blessed with pleasant weather, and a good number of people.

“On a trip to Brittany we bought a crepe making machine, and it came out for the fete. We sold about 60.

“The fete raises money for the upkeep of the church, and there was a great atmosphere, and we would like to thank Rupert and Catherine Younger for allowing it to be held in their garden.”

As well as crepes, fete goers could enjoy the day with a Pimms, while listening to jazz, or relax with a cream tea, before visiting the many stalls, or trying their luck on the tombola or raffle.

For children there was a bouncy castle, games, ice cream and hot dogs.
