The Thomas Lord pub in West Meon has made it into the top 100 gastro-pubs.
The rankings were voted for by 100 industry experts on behalf of William Reed, who has been in the food and drink sector for 160 years.
There are over 50,000 gastropubs in the UK and the company has narrowed the list down to 100 of the best.
The Thomas Lord in the picturesque village nestling below the South Downs came in at 78.
The restored traditional village pub prides itself on offering an excellent range of real ales and a menu full of meals over seven days a week.
Its expert chefs use fresh, locally sourced ingredients to theme special dishes each new season.
The pub's kitchen garden is nurtured and tended to every day along with its very own free-range chicken-run.
William Reed recommended its mezze board with garlic flatbread, baba ghanoush, hummus, tzatziki, couscous salad, radish and olives.
As an alternative, it recommends lemon and safe turkey schnitzel with chestnut stuffing ball, creamed sprouts and bacon alongside roasted new potatoes and cranberry sauce.
The Thomas Lord is part of Upham Inns which has given a new lease of life to old pubs in the south of England. Upham Inns say its core values are to reflect that of a traditional country pub with a community focus with a desire to be the heartbeat of the local area.
