A woman in her 70s was seriously injured following a collision in Petersfield town centre yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, July 16).

The pensioner came into collision with a car near the corner of The Square and High Street around 2pm.

Ambulance and firefighters both attended with a crew from Petersfield fire station providing immediate medical treatment a short while later.

They also screened the scene from pedestrians before the woman, who suffered serious injuries, was passed over to ambulance crews and taken to hospital.

The police have not launched an appeal for information at the time of writing but any witnesses should call 101 quoting crime reference number 442403091497.
