A POPULAR woodland spot in Cowplain has been searched as concern grows for the welfare of a missing 28-year-old from Waterlooville.
Part of the Queen’s Enclosure was cordoned off last night by the emergency services as the operation to find Anthony Bessey intensified.
Police believe the groundworker, who was last seen at his Beresford Close home on Sunday afternoon, could be hiding in woodland in the area.
“We think he could have gone to a number of locations including the wooded area around The Queens Enclosure on London Road,” said a spokesman for Hampshire Police.
“We’re growing increasing concerned for Anthony’s welfare and his family want him to get home safely.”
Anthony is a 5ft 8ins tall white man with a tanned complexion and black hair. He also has tattoos of a tiger on his neck, wings on his back and a clown on his right calf, respectively.
Anyone who has seen Anthony should call the police immediately on 101 quoting 44170263456
