Forest Care’s award-winning activity teams prioritise resident wellbeing by organising a variety of meaningful and joyful group, individual and one-to-one activities and experiences across their homes. Activities are adapted to the daily wishes of residents and their cultural interests and supported by their life-stories in line with Forest Care’s ethos of a person-centred approach to care.

Some of the many activities Forest Care provide are cultural days, classic car events, themed tea parties and dining experiences, floristry workshops, wildlife talks, arts & crafts, beauty sessions, outdoor games, trips out to nearby attractions, live musical entertainers – tap, jive and Irish dancers, accordionists, Motown singers, tribute acts – and visiting animals – alpacas, Shetland ponies, monkeys and even penguins to name a few! Community outreach is important at Forest Care as well as intergenerational activities with local nurseries and school children.

Forest Care is a member of the National Activity Provider Association (NAPA), a leading activity and engagement charity. NAPA’s annual awards night took place on 24th January at The Liner Hotel in Liverpool after a day of learning, inspiration, and connection at the NAPA conference focusing on a theme of ‘musical expression’. They are delighted and immensely proud to announce that their Group Activity Lead Terri Eakins won the ‘Leadership Award’, Cedar Lodge’s Activity Lead Wendy Watmore won the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, Holly Lodge’s Activity Lead Shelley Jouhning received a highly commended ‘Rising Star Award’ and Oak Lodge’s Home Administrator Jacqui Vickery received a highly commended ‘Unsung Hero Award’ at the ceremony. Their team members have demonstrated such commitment, passion, and devotion to their roles at Forest Care, working tirelessly and selflessly to bring joyful and meaningful activities and experiences for their residents.
