FROXFIELD Cricket Club held its third annual fun day on Sunday, in memory of Reg Barnett, who was heavily involved with the club for more than 60 years.

The main attraction on the day was a six-a-side cricket competition, which seven teams entered.

Tichborne Park finished as winners for the second year running, beating Hayling Island in a high-scoring final.

Tichborne’s George Ayling top scored, retiring on 33, and Edd Berry then held his nerve with the ball in the final over to see his side home.

There were plenty of other activities on the day to keep visitors entertained.

Froxfield Cricket Club thanked everyone that helped in the lead up to the event, those that helped on the day and all that kindly donated raffle prizes.

The day made around £1,850, which is to be put towards converting the balcony area into the Reg Barnett pavilion.
