PETERSFIELD Cricket Club’s indoor side finished the season with a perfect record of ten wins and no defeats in South-East Hampshire (Fareham) Indoor Cricket League Division 3 after a convincing victory against Portsmouth and Southsea A in their last game of the season.

Petersfield were put into bat first and reached 155 in their 12 overs, with Ben Turk and Christie Salmon both batting well against a very strong Portsmouth and Southsea bowling attack.

In reply, Portsmouth and Southsea started strongly with Frank Straw being hammered in the first over for four sixes.

A Portsmouth and Southsea batsman retired shortly afterwards, and Damian Carson and Dave Marshall managed to get the scoring under control.

Even with six dropped catches in the field Petersfield managed to take consistent wickets with good fielding by Ben Anscombe and Salmon.

Portsmouth and Southsea were restricted to 85 in the ninth over when Turk took the final wicket, clean bowling the last batsman.

This was a good win against the best team from the division above, and the re-furbished pavilion has its first bit of silverware.
