Alton conceded a stoppage-time equaliser as they drew 1-1 at home to Fleet Town in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
Fleet were reduced to ten men in the fourth minute when Ross Stepney was sent off for pulling back George Bowerman.
Alton took the lead on six minutes when Owen Tanner slotted home.
The Brewers missed chances to double their advantage, and were made to pay when Dean Rule’s 98th-minute penalty made it 1-1.
Petersfield Town exited the FA Cup with a 5-0 defeat at Baffins Milton Rovers in the extra preliminary round on Saturday.
Tyrhys Lukomyomoi grabbed Baffin’s first after 11 minutes when he fired low past Rams keeper Ellis Grant.
Brett Pitman scored Baffin’s second, and Pitman made it 3-0 before half-time when he sent Grant the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Pitman completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute when he deflected a cross into the far corner. Chad Cornwell scored Baffin’s fifth in stoppage time.
Petersfield won 2-1 at Pagham in the Southern Combination Premier Division last Tuesday night (July 30).
Kieran Alcock gave the Rams the lead on 55 minutes when he found the top right-hand corner with a superb effort.
Alfie Davidson equalised for Pagham in the 73rd minute, but Petersfield regained the lead on 84 minutes when Asad Ssemwogerere curled his finish into the bottom corner.
