Badshot Lea drew 1-1 at Binfield in the Isthmian League South Central Division.

Reese Jones Junior gave the hosts the lead in the 24th minute, but the Baggies responded well to falling behind and equalised on 37 minutes when Finlay Evans drove his shot into the far corner.

The Baggies nearly took the lead when Luis Le Paih’s shot was palmed behind for a corner by Binfield keeper Coleridge Fubler Junior.

Badshot Lea manager Gavin Smith admitted the pitch was a challenge, but felt his side missed out on an opportunity to pick up three points.

“The pitch was horrendous,” said Smith.

“We’re at the stage of the season now where the pitches aren’t ideal for free-flowing football.

“The rain before the match didn’t help.

“I didn’t look at Binfield and think they were way better than us.

“It’s a point away from home but there was an opportunity for us to get three points.”
