Badshot Lea lost 3-0 against Sutton Common Rovers in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday.

Goals from Christian Gyamfi, Troy Walters and Luke Ige gave the hosts the three points.

“It was a disappointing afternoon,” said Badshot Lea manager Gavin Smith.

“We started off reasonably well and were in the game, but once we conceded the first goal the game got away from us.”

The Baggies confirmed the signings of Eden Downes, Taro Chipeto and Tristan Goodridge before Saturday’s game.

Downes went straight into the starting line-up, while Chipeto and Goodridge came off the bench.

“Eden played well, and we managed to get Taro and Tristan some minutes,” said Smith.

Alton lost 3-1 at home to Sandhurst Town in the Combined Counties Premier Division South on Saturday.

Alfie Edmonds gave the visitors an early lead, but Owen Tanner’s header got Alton back on level terms.

Frazier Osunkoya put Sandhurst back in front, and Shane Qoloni scored a late third.

Petersfield Town drew 0-0 at home to Haywards Heath Town in the Southern Combination Football League Premier Division on Saturday.

The Rams started brightly and a good interchange between Asad Ssemwogerere and Liam Kimber created space in the area for Callum Kimber, but he scuffed his effort.

Petersfield nearly went ahead when Tom Dinsmore played a ball through to Liam Kimber, who forced a good block inside the six-yard box.

Kian Towse came on for the Rams with half an hour to play and his cross narrowly missed Harrison Cable at the back post.

Haywards Heath nearly scored a winner on 78 minutes when Max Blencowe’s half-volley was tipped over the bar by Rams keeper Kieran Connell.

Petersfield co-manager Connor Hoare was happy with his side’s performance against fellow promotion contenders.

“It was a really tight game,” said Hoare.

“We pressed well and we caused Haywards Heath problems.”
