League leaders Farnham Town returned to action after a three-week break with a solid 1-0 win at Sutton Common Rovers in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday.
The result moved Farnham nine points clear of second-placed Kingstonian after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Leatherhead.
Town were in action for the first time since beating Badshot Lea 2-1 on December 28, after matches against Moneyfields, Kingstonian and Hayes & Yeading United were postponed, but the league leaders were soon back in their stride.
Adam Liddle scored the only goal of the game in the 19th minute to give Farnham a deserved three points.
The visitors nearly doubled their advantage two minutes later, but Owen Dean’s volley hit the crossbar.
The victory was Farnham’s eighth away win in a row.
Farnham will travel to Hanworth Villa in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday, January 25 (3pm kick-off).
