Haslemere Hockey Club’s women’s second team slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Southampton’s women’s second team in South Central Women’s Division One South on Saturday.

The visitors quickly settled into their rhythm, dominating possession and showcasing some impressive passing throughout the game.

Despite creating several good opportunities, the Haslemere forwards struggled to find the back of the net.

Southampton broke the deadlock with a goal from open play, leaving Haslemere 1-0 down at half-time.

Haslemere got back on level terms in the second half through Heidi’s goal, but the home side then scored a late winner.

Haslemere’s women’s second team were also in action on Sunday, when they fell to a 2-0 defeat at Wimborne in South Central Women’s Division One South.

Haslemere’s women’s second team will hope to return to winning ways when they host Havant women’s second team in South Central Women’s Division One South on Saturday (2pm start).
