Liss Runners achieved an impressive third-placed finish at the Emsworth to Basingstoke relay.
A team of six Liss ladies – Catherine Seagar, Gemma Sills, Sarah Page, Nicky Thorneycroft, Emma Burrows and Caroline Brown – entered the relay. Robin Greenfield offered to be the driver and took the team between the checkpoints as well as providing support.
Liss finished third out of 15 teams, and were the first-placed ladies’ team. Liss Runners also participated with Rose’s Rebels – a mixed team made up mostly of Liss members – who had a fun day of running.
Liss Runners achieved some impressive times in the Hampshire Road Race League (HRRL) Netley 10km race.
Joe Sykes sealed a top ten finish in a personal best time of 36.02, men’s club captain Steve Armstrong finished 31st in 38.24, Andy Turner crossed the line in 38.49, Andy Paton finished in 42.27, Stavros Valourdos crossed the line in 43.11, Gavin Saunders finished in 45.24, Mark Wilkie crossed the line in 47.28 and Paul Judge finished in 1:04.58.
Seagar was the first Liss lady to cross the line in a time of 41.09, Kate Parker finished in 45.19, Laura Baty crossed the line in 48.54, Mel Jensen finished in 1:00.04 and Laura Harding crossed the line in 1:04.04.
Turner achieved first place in the V60 category, while Seagar was the first-placed lady in the V40 category.
Seagar is in second place in the HRRL women’s individual standings, and Liss’ ladies’ team are in fourth place in the Women’s A1 Division.
Armstrong is in 16th place in the HRRL men’s individual standings, and Liss’ men’s team are in fifth place in the Men’s A2 Division.
Liss Runners will hold this year’s Harting multi-terrain ten-mile race at 10.30am on Sunday, August 4.
