PETERSFIELD Squash Club Juniors have re-entered the Hampshire Squash Junior League.

The league is an individual competition where juniors represent their club across Hampshire, and their points count towards the overall club position.

The club competed at two events recently. Junior players get at least three games in a box, and some of the juniors had their first wins.

In Division 2 William Jenner got 25.5 points and Jack Boorer got 12.5 points, in Division 3 Dominic Newton got 32 points, Zach Harris got 28.5 points, James Graham got 22.5 points and Joe Prendergast got 21 points, and in Division 4 Mini Squash Max Hammond got 32 points, Ben Pratt got 24 points, Archie McClung got 21 points, Millie Harris got 17 points and Sam Newton got 8.5 points.

Junior training is held at Herne Farm on Wednesdays, and the annual junior tournament is tomorrow (Saturday) at the Taro Leisure Centre.

On Thursday evening the men’s first team won 4-1 away to Lee-on-Solent’s third team, with team captain Jonathan Graham losing 3-0, Sam Shuff winning 3-1, Andy Smith winning 3-1, Rob Anderson winning 3-0 and Graham Dawes winning 3-2.

The men’s fourth team won 3-2 at home to Southampton University’s fifth team. Andy Roy won 3-2, Richard Saulet won 3-1, John Bennington won 3-0, Paul Bundey lost 3-0 and Iain Swann lost 0-3.
