PETERSFIELD Triathlon Club members took part in the Goodwood Duathlon around the historic motor circuit in wet and blustery conditions.

Roy Matthews came third overall and first in his age category on the short course which comprised a 3.8km run, 22.8km bike ride and a 3.8km run. Julie Gadsden won the 65-69 age category and Ciani Foulkes came third in her age category.

Sandra Sellis won her age category for the longer course which involved a 7.6km run, 38km bike ride and a 3.8km run, with Kate Parker and Leighton Jones also taking part.

Petersfield Triathlon Club members also took part in the Portsmouth Duathlon Series. This was a series of three duathlons in February, March and April, and the Petersfield team were blessed with dry conditions for the finale on Sunday.

There were two courses. The longer course had a 10km run, 24km bike ride and 5km run, and the shorter course had a 5km run, 24km bike ride and 5km run.

Club chairwoman Kim King was the first lady home and Ben Willis was fourth, and first in his age category, on the shorter course.

Sellis was fourth in her age category on the longer course, and having completed all three events in the series came third overall. Parker and Ciani Foulkes came 12th and 19th in their age categories on the longer course.
