The world of artistic swimming has just had a busy couple of weeks, and Rushmoor Artistic Swimming Club have once again been successful.

Rushmoor’s Ranjuo Tomblin became the first ever male medallist in the Technical Solo event at the National Junior and Senior Championships in Nottingham.

Ranjuo won a bronze medal for both the Junior and Senior championship.

He was awarded 22.2 for execution, 22.2 for artistic impression and 26.5117 for elements, giving an overall score of 69.8815.

At the same competition, the Champs Team came in overall 12th, having swum magnificently to make up for a disappointing Saturday.

And in the National Age Group competition held over the weekend of March 25 and 26 in Gloucester, the 13-15 age group recovered after a difficult first dayto pull together and deliver an outstanding performance to bring home a well-deserved eighth place.

The teams are now focusing on training to deliver a polished performance in their first ever summer show, at the Garrison in Aldershot on June 10.

Rushmoor Artistic Swimming Club are always looking for new members – and not just youngsters.

Club officer Matt Snelling said: “We are always looking for girls and boys to join, but we also have a thriving ‘Sinc and Swim’ group.

“While our main club enjoy competing, our recreational swimmers use artistic swimming as a stress reliever from work, and to keep fit, while having lots of fun!
