Farnham clinched the Regional Two South Central title with a comprehensive 45-12 win at home to Chobham.

Farnham welcomed Chobham to Monkton Lane for the penultimate round of the league season knowing a bonus-point win would secure the league title.

The opening exchanges were ferocious with both teams looking to play.

Farnham opened the scoring when Ben Stevens kicked ahead and sprinted past the retreating Chobham defence before fly hacking through and regathering the ball to dot down for the first score.

The second try arrived when a well-executed lineout move saw Jack Bemelmans feed Harrison Horner, who broke several tackles before offloading back to Bemelmans who cantered in to score.

Farnham scored their third try of the afternoon when Horner floated a ball to the onrushing Joe Wigmore, who burst through the line and sprinted clear for his 16th try of the season.

The lineout was providing an excellent platform for Farnham and Fin Sloan used his pace to break through the line before offloading to Shawa Rai, who burst clear and touched down for the bonus-point score on the 30-minute mark.

Farnham led 26-0 at half-time and the title was within reach.

Joe Brockman charged down a kick and was taken out, but Joe Wood was on hand to finish off and dive over for Farnham’s fifth try.

Oscar Henderson then read a Chobham crossfield kick and powered through two tacklers before offloading to Marco Azevedo, who dotted down for Farnham’s sixth try.

The seventh try arrived when Reece Stennett’s charge down created an opportunity, with Brockman sweeping up the loose ball to score in the corner.

Chobham responded with two tries, but Farnham weren’t to be denied.

The trophy was lifted in front of a packed balcony, with promotion secured to Level Five.
