League leaders Farnham kept their Regional Two South Central promotion push on track with a 49-28 win at North Dorset.

The hosts started the game strongly and took the lead with a converted try after two minutes.

Farnham won a penalty in midfield and Ollie Brown took it quickly and drew the North Dorset fullback who deliberately stuck an arm out, resulting in a yellow card.

The visitors made the extra man count with a well-executed move seeing Jack Haylett run in under the posts.

North Dorset regained the lead when they won a penalty and kicked to the corner and used their rolling maul to touch down for their second try.

Farnham strung some phases together and Fin Sloan fizzed a miss pass to Joe Wigmore who broke down the left-hand side and ran in under the posts for Farnham’s second try.

North Dorset finished the half in the ascendency and powered over for a try to lead 21-14 at half-time.

Farnham started the second half on the front foot and won a penalty which they kicked to the corner.

Despite the initial effort being held up, Farnham continued to pound the line and eventually broke the hosts down with Shawa Rai diving over for the score.

Farnham struck again minutes later when a well-executed lineout move saw Brown find Wigmore in space and the winger beat several defenders and dived over for his second try.

The visitors scored their fifth try when Sloan found Oscar Henderson on the wing and he dotted down to put Farnham 35-21 ahead.

The hosts fought back and scored their fourth try to make it 35-28.

Reece Stennett then intercepted a North Dorset pass and raced in from 50 metres for a crucial score.

Farnham scored their final try when Rai passed to Sloan, who dived over under the posts.
