A children’s hospice needs a helping hand of its own as a Petersfield shop is hosting a volunteer open day.

Would-be volunteers have been invited for tea and cake at the Naomi House & Jacksplace charity shop on Chapel Street on Friday (April 19).

People can learn about the benefits of volunteering in charity shops and the support that Naomi House and Jacksplace gives to life-limited children, young adults and their families.

Organisers hope the event will encourage new volunteers into the shop, with support needed from the town community.

“Our shop atmosphere is a fun one to work in, as I believe a happy shop flows over to our customers,” said its shop manager.

“As a team, we celebrate each other’s birthdays, we sing and dance to the radio, and keep the shop full of new items.”

The open day will run from 9.30am to 1pm, all welcome.
