An annual Scottish celebration raised money for a Petersfield hospice charity on the weekend.
More than 100 people dressed in their finest tartan for the Burns Night celebrations at the Half Moon in Sheet.
The two events run by Entertainment Events raised £1,700 for The Rosemary Foundation and featured a piper, a traditional ceilidh and supper with Haggis, Scotland’s national dish.
Chris Pellett from Entertainment Events said: “A hundred and sixty guests attended our two annual Burns Night Ceilidhs, held once again at The Half Moon.
“Piper Andrea Bungay greeted guests warmly, setting the tone for a lively evening of ceilidh dancing led by the ever-popular Liz Scholey who on Friday was supported by fiddler Sim and guitarist Shep.
“As the haggis made its grand entrance, Martin Brown delivered his usual captivating toast, followed by a traditional Burns Supper featuring haggis, neeps, tatties, followed by 'tipsy laird' trifle.”
Mr Pellet also expressed his thanks for the generous raffle prize donations provided by pub, Halsa Treatments & Therapies, Hector’s Clothing and contributions from guests.
The event sold out so early this year that bookings are already open for next year, with an extra celebration at lunch for people who can’t attend in the evening. Make sure to reserve your place online now to avoid disappointment!
The Rosemary Foundation commented: “Thank you to Entertainment Events for organising this event, what an amazing start to the year. Thank you also to The Half Moon, raffle donors and everyone who attended, we hope you all had a fabulous time!`’
If you missed out and are looking for an excuse to dance then there’s always the barn dance at the Petersfield Community Centre, also run by Entertainment Events. It will take place on Saturday, March 22 and proceeds go towards the Rosemary Foundation.
