SINGING sensation Joe Waller from The X Factor, a 25-year-old primary school teacher from Bordon, is to headline at G-Fest in Greatham on Saturday (July 1).

Joe impressed the judges on the 2015 series of the talent show, but decided to quit to concentrate on his singer songwriting and recording.

He attended Mill Chase School and Alton College, and teaches sports to schools across the area including Bordon Junior School and Liphook Primary School.

He was also a contestant on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent in 2014, the year that it was won by Petersfield’s Michael Auger and his Collabro music theatre boy band.

G-Fest, on the village field, from 3.30pm to 9.30pm, offers something for all tastes and is family friendly, with games and activities for children.

Organised by the Greatham village event committee, it also features a Pimm’s tent, barbecue food and stalls.

Greatham Primary School will kick off the afternoon by performing an extract from their new Button Box show.

Along with Joe and The Hanging Tree Band, other acts include a Robbie Williams tribute from Mike Andrews, and local bands Rehab, Sounds of the 80s, Honey Tonic, The Round Pegs, BlueSoulJazz and Peter Charles.

Tickets are £5 for the day, available on the gate from 3.30pm, and under-12s go free.
