Motorists around Petersfield have been left counting the cost following a “selfish act of mindless damage”.

Police are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage after numerous cars were keyed or damaged early last Wednesday morning (August 14).

Vehicles on Goodyer Close, St Peters Road, Dolphin Court, Upper Heyshott, Moggs Mead, Love Lane and Luker Drive were targeted sometime between 12.30am and 2am. Police say the overall costs to victims will be in the tens of thousands of pounds.

Witnesses or residents with CCTV, video doorbell or RING dash cam footage should call Hampshire Police on 101 quoting crime reference number 44240354267.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police are also investigating a vehicle break-in sometime over the weekend on Blackthorn Avenue in Horndean in which items were stolen but the car was not damaged.
