A Petersfield environmental group will host an eco-themed art exhibition for one weekend only.
Petersfield Climate Action Network (PeCAN) is inviting the community to join them at Winton House on Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1 for a special Eco Café art exhibition.
It will be open from 10am to 4pm and exhibiting artists include Lynne Ashcroft, Frances Vesey, Rebecca Finch and Abigail McKern.
A PeCAN spokesperson said: “Artists have always been inspired by nature and, particularly here in Britain, our ever-changing weather. This exhibition shows how four local artists have responded to the yearly circle of life, capturing ‘Land, Light & Leaves’ through the seasons and in various media.
“Behind the daily ups and downs of the weather – the source of so much British conversation and rich language – something more fundamental is happening. Human-induced climate change is turning our global weather patterns upside-down.
“Future artists will continue to draw inspiration from nature, but the seasonal changes they respond to could be as different from our childhood memories as accounts of frost fairs on the Thames seemed to us.”
The exhibition will be displayed in the main cafe at Winton House and the Courtyard Room in the building behind. Hot drinks and seasonal refreshments will be available to keep people warm as they explore the different works.
If you would like to volunteer at the event, email [email protected]. PeCAn is an environmental charity run by local residents and their mission is to help reduce carbon emissions and protect nature.
