A Petersfield group is getting into the festive spirit by hosting an event for people who are on their own on Christmas.
The Petersfield Area Churches Together (PACT) will hold a free lunch on Christmas Day at the Petersfield Community Centre from 12.30pm. To make the event accessible for everyone, transport to and from the lunch can be provided if required.
Already, numerous people have signed up to volunteer and local businesses have been quick to lend their support by providing food for the meal.
PACT Christmas lunch coordinator/chair, Caz Nicholls, said: “There are so many different reasons why people might be on their own on Christmas Day and we want anyone that is going to be on their own on to join us.
“It is also wonderful to have organisations in Petersfield that are willing to support and help those that are on their own on Christmas Day.
“We will have some live music and a tabletop quiz to encourage interaction, because where people are on their own, they might not know others. It will close with some singing and we have lots of carols so it should be really lovely.”
If anyone that wants to talk to PACT about the event, the group will be at Rams Walk on Saturday, November 23 or you can pop into Winton House on the High Street.
The lunch will consist of a three-course meal with mince pies and refreshments. For more information or to RSVP, email [email protected] or call 07568 451 989.
