Petersfield Golf Club has raised a significant amount of money for a national charity.
The club recently welcomed 92 lady golfers from Hampshire and beyond for its annual coffee morning and Christmas fair.
The event raised £3,000 for Sands, a charity that works to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, improve the care bereaved parents receive and create a world where fewer babies die.
Golfers enjoyed browsing the variety of stalls before and after they played, and the successful raffle raised just over £1,000 alone.
Organisers Brenda Vangrove and Lyn Criddle thanked all the helpers and those who contributed prizes for the raffle.
Brenda said: “There was a lovely buzz in the clubhouse during the day with lots of chat over coffee with many players and visitors having lunch.
“We thank Head Chef Russell Orme and his team for all their hard work from early in the morning as players arrived until they went home. There have been many lovely comments and emails to say just how much everyone enjoyed the day.”
Captain Heidi Oliver who featured with vice captain Jackie Carter on Shine Radio, commented: “A big thank you to Lyn and Brenda and to the many members who helped before and throughout the day, helping to make it such a huge success.
“We were so lucky with the weather this year and we are very grateful to all the lady golfers, friends and families who come and support us every year, and to benefit Sands this year."
