Clanfield and Horndean Downs councillors held their monthly surgery at the Clanfield Centre recently.
At the meeting, residents voiced their worry about the number 8 bus service whose route has been disrupted by the roadworks at the Drift Road and Green Lane junction. Concerns were also made about the extra distance that residents have to walk to get to a bus stop while the work is ongoing - councillors are waiting for a reply from the bus operator.
The speed limit on Hambleton Road in Clanfield was also brought to the councillors’ attention. The 40 mph limit is only reduced to 30, close to the junction with South Lane. The wish is for the reduced speed limit to be enforced on the way into the village, past Red House Lane.
A Speed Indicate Display that show drivers their speed will soon be introduced to Clanfield to help with speeding. These displays are common on roads and show the driver whether they are speeding or keeping within the limit.
