Stuart Morrison has raised his voice for countless causes as the town crier for Whitehill & Bordon.

But now it’s his turn to get a shout-out, as he’s hitting the road for a mental health charity that helped him through one of the darkest periods of his life.

Stuart turned to Big Moose last year as grief and the loss of his parents took its toll on his mental health.

He wants to repay them for the critical support they provided by running the Farnborough Winter Half Marathon on Sunday, February 9.

“I had to admit the saying ‘time heals’ wasn’t working for me,” said Stuart, who wants to raise £1,600 for the Cardiff good cause dedicated to providing accessible mental health support.

“The relief of admitting I need help was intense and to receive therapy within a week, without any cost or barriers, was amazing.

“When you’re struggling and then face long waits or endless hoops to jump through, it can feel isolating and make things worse

“Big Moose gave me the help I needed and now I want to repay it.”

Big Moose quickly delivers therapy to those in need with a promise of a response within 24 hours and access to a qualified therapist within a week.

Stuart is determined to help others access the same support by covering the cost of 16 therapy sessions for a total of four people. Although he admits he’s “not fast” the fundraiser is training hard and is hoping for a personal best of under two hours and 25 minutes.

He added: “I know the economy is tough right now and every penny counts, but even £1 can make a difference.”
