AT THE end of a successful summer bowling season, Petersfield Bowls Club held the finals of the club competitions in showery and blustery conditions over the weekend.

The matches were closely contended, providing plenty of opportunity for supporters and onlookers to show their appreciation of the bowlers’ skills on display.

The results were as follows: in the Percy Moses pairs M Paton and R Purchase won against T Hourahine and M Stothard; in the mixed pairs M Paton and S Hooper won against S Paton and G Sutton; in the men’s pairs S Dearlove and R Davies won against R Hutchinson and D Walmsley; in the ladies’ pairs S Paton and P Burrage won against M Spandley and S Twiddy; in the ladies’ singles M Hutchinson won against M Stothard; and in the men’s singles M Paton won against P Beverley.
