Badshot Lea manager Gavin Smith admitted he was gutted after his side conceded in the 95th minute to lose 1-0 at Southall in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday.
The Baggies had looked on course for a useful point on the road until Christian Mulindwa scored Southall’s winner in stoppage time.
“I felt really deflated after the game,” said Smith.
“Southall had a corner and I knew it would be the last action of the game – if we cleared the corner the game would have been done and it would have been a third draw in a row.
“We would have taken the point and used it as something to build on, but when it mattered we couldn’t see it out.
“The key moments are what matter – and when it mattered most at the end of the game we couldn’t keep the ball out.”
Southall had been reduced to ten minutes on 78 minutes when home skipper Azeez Alabi received a second yellow card, but Smith admitted the sending off actually hindered his side.
“We played better against 11 and didn’t adjust well when Southall went down to ten men,” said Smith.
