League leaders Farnham Town continued their perfect start to their Isthmian League South Central Division campaign with a comprehensive 7-0 win at home to Binfield.

Goals from Shay Brennan (5) and Sam De St Croix (2) gave Town the three points at The Memorial Ground.

Town created their first chance of the evening in the 11th minute when De St Croix’s shot was well parried away by Binfield keeper Coleridge Fubler Jr.

Farnham took the lead a minute later when Joe Jackson’s superb through ball picked out Brennan, who went around Fubler Jr and slotted his finish into an empty net.

Town doubled their advantage in the 19th minute when Adam Liddle squared the ball for Brennan to sweep home into the back of the net.

Farnham scored their third of the evening on 32 minutes when Jackson’s threaded pass found De St Croix on the edge of the box and he confidently placed his finish into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.

It was 4-0 four minutes later when Jackson’s through ball picked out Brennan, who exploited Binfield’s high line and went around Fubler Jr and passed the ball into the empty net to complete his hat-trick.

Farnham nearly scored a fifth before half-time when Harry Cooksley’s free kick picked out Jordan Stepney, who headed over the bar.

Town were quick out of the blocks at the start of the second half and nearly made it five on 48 minutes when Cooksley’s inviting cross was headed just wide by Ryan Kinnane.

Brennan made it 5-0 in the 52nd minute when he ran at the Binfield defence and confidently stroked his finish into the bottom left-hand corner of the net to score his fourth of the evening.

It was 6-0 five minutes later when De St Croix spotted Fubler Jr off his line and lobbed the Binfield keeper from 40 yards out.

De St Croix had a golden chance to complete his hat-trick in the 62nd minute, but he placed his left-foot finish just wide of the far post.

Town made it 7-0 on 71 minutes when substitute Owen Dean cut the ball back for Brennan to sweep home his fifth of the evening.

De St Croix nearly made it 8-0 in the 82nd minute when he tried his luck again from distance, but his effort went just wide of the far post.

Next up for Farnham is a home game against Metropolitan Police in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday, September 28 (3pm kick-off).
