Petersfield Town drew 1-1 at home to Roffey in the Southern Combination Football League Premier Division after conceding a stoppage-time equaliser.

Liam Kimber’s 69th-minute goal gave the Rams the lead, but Jordan Mase’s 94th-minute equaliser meant the points were shared in front of a crowd of 168 at Love Lane.

The visitors created the first chance of the afternoon in the sixth minute when Tom Tolfrey’s shot was well tipped around the post by Rams keeper Kieran Connell.

Petersfield nearly took the lead two minutes later when Dec Seiden’s shot was parried away by Roffey keeper Monty Watson-Price.

Seiden tried his luck again a minute later when his shot flashed across the face of goal.

The Rams went close again in the 14th minute when Tom Dinsmore’s corner picked out Jack Farrier, who headed just over the bar.

Petersfield created their next chance on 27 minutes when Kimber hooked a ball into the box to Harrison Birmingham, and his shot was well held by Watson-Price.

Roffey nearly took the lead a minute later when Mase’s powerful shot hit the top of the Petersfield crossbar.

The visitors created another chance before half-time when Ricardo Fernandes cut in from the left and hit a right-foot shot just wide of the far post.

The second half was a much tighter affair, but the Rams took the lead in the 69th minute after some quick thinking.

A short corner was played to Kimber on the edge of the box and he took a touch before rifling a right-foot shot into the far bottom corner.

The hosts nearly doubled their advantage when Birmingham threaded a superb pass to Asad Ssemwogerere, and Ssemwogerere’s ball across the box was well blocked before Kimber tried to smash home but couldn’t find the target.

The Rams held on to their lead until stoppage time, when Mase’s 94th-minute right-foot shot nestled in the bottom right-hand corner to earn the visitors a share of the spoils.

Next up for Petersfield is a home game against United Services Portsmouth in the second round of the Portsmouth Senior Cup on Tuesday, November 12 (7.45pm kick-off).
