Farnham Town manager Paul Johnson was delighted with his side’s professionalism after they swept aside Guernsey in the Isthmian League South Central Division.
Town produced a polished performance to beat their lowly opponents 7-0.
“It was a professional performance from the word go,” said Johnson.
“We settled really quickly and dominated the whole game.
“We knew Guernsey were going to sit in, but we were ruthless.
“Guernsey seemed to back off us and didn't want to engage with us, and it cost them.
“Jordan Gallagher picked up good pockets – and it was a great finish for the first one.
“There were some good goals all round.
“We've been a bit critical lately of not taking our chances in the final third as we would like, but everyone was connecting with the ball cleanly.
“We were lively in the box and got good numbers in there.
“Guernsey couldn't handle us.”
Johnson was also happy with the impact his substitutes made from the bench.
“We only had four substitutes but we had four great options,” said Johnson.
“Kai Tanner came on and did a job at right-back and got himself on the scoresheet.
“They're all chipping in and doing their job.”
Farnham had raced into a 4-0 lead by half-time, and Johnson was pleased that his team kept their standards up in the second half.
“It’s difficult at half-time when you're so in control,” said Johnson.
“I think in the last ten minutes of the first half we got a little bit sloppy – everyone wanted to score and everyone was shooting from where they could.
“We reset at half-time and it was all about our own attitude and our own standards.
“We wanted seven or eight and the boys delivered.
“We tick it off but we can't get complacent and get carried away with the scoreline.”
