A community meeting has been called for parents who are concerned about road safety in Petersfield following a serious accident near a town school.
A Herne Junior School pupil was seriously injured and needed hospital treatment following an accident involving two cyclists on the Moggs Mead crossing on May 15.
The accident could have been avoided as the victim’s view of the road was obscured by a car parked very close to the crossing point.
The incident has prompted concerned parents to call a community meeting at the same school from 7pm next Wednesday, June 12.
Parents would like to bring the community together to share experiences and explore positive ways in make roads around Petersfield safer for their children.
All residents are welcome to attend, while HJS is keen to work with the surrounding community to petition Hampshire County Council to make common routes to school much safer for their children.
