Badshot Lea crashed to an emphatic 4-0 defeat at home to Uxbridge in the Isthmian League South Central Division.

Goals from George Moore (2), Scott Armsworth and Leo Donnellan gave the visitors the three points in front of a crowd of 104 at Westfield Lane.

The visitors were quick out of the traps and took the lead in the third minute when Moore flicked home from a free kick.

Uxbridge created another chance from a set piece on 24 minutes when a free kick found James Taylor at the back post, but his header was easily saved by Baggies keeper Harry Cawdron.

Moore nearly got his second of the afternoon in the 35th minute when he received the ball with his back to goal on the edge of the box and spun and hit a low shot which was well tipped around the post by Cawdron.

Leo Decabo was next to go close for the visitors when he cut in from the left and hit a right-foot shot which was well held by Cawdron.

Moore did double Uxbridge’s advantage on 36 minutes when he received the ball in the box and emphatically fired his finish into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.

Moore nearly scored a first-half hat-trick when his right-foot shot across goal went just wide of the far post.

The visitors made a fast start to the second half and went 3-0 up in the 48th minute when Armsworth rose highest to emphatically head home into the roof of the net from a corner.

Uxbridge went 4-0 up on 64 minutes when Donnellan hit a spectacular strike into the roof of the net from 30 yards out.

Moore went close to making it 5-0 in the 76th minute, but his powerful shot was well parried away by Cawdron.

The visitors went even closer a minute later when Armsworth’s close-range header was superbly tipped onto the crossbar by Cawdron.

Badshot Lea nearly pulled a goal back on 86 minutes when Samuel Yabani’s cross picked out Lamin Ceesay at the back post, but Ceesay’s header went over the bar.

Next up for the Baggies is a trip to Frimley Green in the second round of the Aldershot Senior Cup on Tuesday, November 12 (7.45pm kick-off).
