Farnham Town manager Paul Johnson was delighted with his side’s performance after they picked up a comprehensive 5-0 victory at Uxbridge in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday.

Goals from Adam Liddle (4) and Richie Mbele fired Johnson’s side to an emphatic away win.

Town took the lead in the 39th minute when Liddle slammed home. Liddle then doubled Farnham’s advantage five minutes later when he thumped his finish into the roof of the net.

Liddle completed his hat-trick on 67 minutes when he tapped home from close range, and he made it 4-0 seven minutes later when his effort deflected past Uxbridge keeper Callum Coulter.

Mbele made it 5-0 in stoppage time to seal a comprehensive away win for Town.

“It was a good performance – everything seemed to click nicely,” said Johnson.

“I’m really pleased for Adam. He is always a pest for defenders but he sometimes is too unselfish and passes when he should shoot. He should back himself more.”

Farnham were also in action last Tuesday night (October 29), when they won 2-0 against Ashford Town (Middlesex) in the Isthmian League South Central Division.

Ryan Kinnane headed home Farnham’s opener in the 34th minute. Great Evans made it 2-0 on 78 minutes.

Next up for league leaders Farnham is a trip to fourth-placed Harrow Borough in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday (3pm).

Town won 4-0 at home to Harrow earlier this season, but Johnson is expecting a tough test on Saturday.

“We’ve got a few players missing and we know it will be a tough game at Harrow,” said Johnson.

Badshot Lea manager Gavin Smith was pleased with his side’s performance after they drew 2-2 at Moneyfields in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday, but admitted he was frustrated that his side hadn’t won the game.

The home side took the lead in the 21st minute through Scott Hills’ penalty, but Kai Allsopp got the Baggies back on level terms four minutes later when he cut inside and rifled his shot home.

Moneys regained the lead on 46 minutes through Callum Laycock, but Allsopp made it 2-2 in the 63rd minute.

“We played really well and the only frustration is that we didn’t get all three points, because we deserved them,” said Smith.

“To come from behind twice showed good character. We had chances to win the game but didn’t take them.

“There were a lot of good performances throughout the team, but Joe Lewis-Evans and Kai were both excellent.”

New signings Amari Fashanu and Isaac Okello made their debuts off the bench, and Smith is delighted to have them on board.

“Amari’s quality is clear to see,” said Smith. “He already has a good understanding with Kai and they were linking up well.

“Isaac is quite raw but he deserves his opportunity and hopefully he will make the most of it.”

Badshot Lea will host Uxbridge at Westfield Lane in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday (3pm).
